Frequently Asked Questions- What We Offer

Please reach us at info@colorguardliaison.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A Color Guard is a ceremonial team that presents or carries the national, state, and military flags at formal events to show honor and respect.

Anyone hosting a patriotic, civic, or community event—such as schools, cities, veterans groups, or private individuals—can request a Color Guard.

We support parades, memorials, civic ceremonies, school assemblies, patriotic holidays, wreath-laying, and other public or ceremonial events.

No. We provide Color Guard support free of charge.

We recommend submitting your request at least 2 weeks in advance, but we do our best to support last-minute requests when possible.

Our Color Guard teams are made up of trained individuals from specific backgrounds. Participation is limited to JROTC Cadets, ROTC Cadets, and retired military personnel. These individuals bring the discipline, training, and respect necessary to perform ceremonial duties with the proper military decorum. We do not accept general volunteers for the Color Guard unit itself, but others may support through logistics or coordination roles.

Yes, but all requests for active-duty personnel are submitted through the appropriate military channels for approval. We coordinate and assist with the application process to help secure their participation, but final approval depends on military authority.

Yes. Upon request, we can coordinate live buglers and bagpipers to accompany the Color Guard and enhance the ceremony. These musicians are volunteers who provide a powerful and respectful tribute at memorials, parades, and special events. Availability may vary depending on location and timing, so we recommend requesting as early as possible.

You’ll receive a follow-up within 24 to 48 hours after submitting your request. Final confirmation will be provided as the event date approaches.

Please provide a clear location, timeline, and contact person for the event. Ensure there’s a designated area for staging and instructions if needed.

Yes! We welcome volunteers to assist with coordination, logistics, and outreach—even if you don’t have a military background.
